Making a decision to have a child--it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
Elizabeth Stone
The love of family is life's greatest blessing
Anonymous
To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.
C. S. Lewis

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.
Matthew 23:37
Some people feel guilty about their anxieties and regard them as a defect of faith but they are afflictions, not sins. Like all afflictions, they are, if we can so take them, our share in the passion of Christ.
C. S. Lewis
Many, through wishing to be great, have failed to be good.
Charles Spurgeon

Literary experience heals the wound, without undermining the privilege, of individuality. In reading great literature I become a thousand men and yet remain myself. Like the night sky in the Greek poem, I see with a myriad eyes, but it is still I who see. Here, as in worship, in love, in moral action and in knowing, I transcend myself, and am never more myself than when I do.

C. S. Lewis

You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.
C. S. Lewis
What we become depends on what we read after all the professors have finished with us. The greatest university of all is the collection of books.
Thomas Carlyle

I love literature! Of all the things I love to do, reading tops the list. Most genres suit me: poetry, classical novels, children's novels, adventure, science, Christian apologetics, biographies, and all the rest. Being homeschooled meant that a large portion of my "free" time could be dedicated to reading, which was, I believe, a great foundation for my life.... As to the rest of my existence: I am the second child in a family of 12 children. I have 6 brothers and 5 sisters. I am very privileged to study Midwifery! I love forming relationships with the women, and am really sad when I have to say goodbye. I most of all love attending their births!
